Chef Walt on Learning to cook, Creating Recipes and Making Food for Everyone

Everything important comes down to moments.

For Chef Walt Dotson, those moments were created at his grandmother’s stove, cooking on her cast iron, and in his grandfather’s packed steakhouse busing tables. It led to his culinary education right here in the Ozarks, his tried-and-true recipes and the restaurant-quality food Fudu provides for your table. 

Fudu focuses on simple, fresh ingredients to make food that tastes good. It’s based on chef-crafted from Chef Walt, an award winning champion on everything from barbecue to chili.

Walt brings years of knowledge to Fudu, and his history cooking competitions, from Chili Cook-offs to BBQ shows, have allowed him to experience some of his favorite parts of being a chef — winning trophies, and seeing others enjoy what he's made.

Outside of the Fudu kitchen, he spends time with his wife and their five 'fur babies' but he doesn't stop cooking, even when he leaves Fudu at the end of the day.

"I just love cooking. I go home, I cook. I just love it. The day you wake up and aren't excited, you need to find something else to do. But that's cooking for me. I love it."
